From the outset of his speech, the sales man-in-chief went into full campaign mode, by immediately thanking Governor Tim Kaine, who just happens to be the chairman of the DNC, along with Congressmen Bobby Scott, Jim Moran and Gerry Connolly, for doing a great job. Then Obama started his sales pitch with doom and gloom. Have you heard this pitch before?
There are all these advantages of the internet, however, it is not that simple. Usually, the premiums quoted online are the preferred pricing, which many people cannot qualify for due to a medical condition or a height and weight restriction. They also often show their lowest priced plans, which often are reduced benefit plans. Some companies will advertise their 50%/50% co-insurance plan rather than their 80%/20% just to show the lower rate. Other companies have a higher out of pocket maximum, which means paying more at the time of claim.
What is to come in the next decade? Two of my grandchildren will graduate from high school. I will be approaching retirement towards the end. My husband will retire at the end of the decade. I also know as of June 2010 I will have one more grandchild.
Senator B: My party has offered many great ideas that will make for more meaningful reform and not push the country to the brink of a Chinese take-over.
If we conclude that the donations from the health care industry to Mr. Obama were not gifts, but bribes, then we are a banana republic. And if we are, then perhaps we had better rename the nation, something other than the United States of America, which implies a certain amount of ethical conduct, a willingness on the part of the inhabitants to be united, and not subjugated by a greedy despot. (I know, we had that for eight years. But we voted him out, or at least I think we did.) So, anyway, if we do need to change our name to fit the status of banana republic, perhaps we could call our nation Columbia, an historically adequate name if a little close to the name of an existing banana republic. Or maybe Christophoraguay.or Vespucciana.or Hudsonian.
In 1966 Medicare cost billion. The House Ways and means committee projected that the cost in 1990 would be billion. The actual cost was billion.
Simultaneously loading down business with health care reform (read TAXES) and cap and trade (read EXCESSIVE TAXES At every LEVEL) will only ensure that today’s 10.2% unemployment rate will continue rising. The big LIE is government is not the solution. It is the problem. The Founders knew that. Reagan knew that. The Administration, too, knows that. But the power is intoxicating, and they will do whatever they can to grab as much as possible. No matter how many people are trampled in the process. 190,000 freshly unemployed can attest to that.
The Immigration situation in this country today, is so far out of control, it may never be right again. They have not stopped them from coming. Homeland Security is a huge joke. The Border Patrol is even more of a joke. They aren’t making the billions of dollars given to them, work for any of the illegal problem.
